This Privacy Policy explains how Kisan Bharosa (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Kisan Bharosa mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Mobile number — used to create your account and sign you in via a one-time password (OTP).
• Profile details — your name, district/village, and the crops you grow, so we can personalize advice.
• Crop photos & questions — images and text or voice questions you submit to the AI Crop Doctor and Assistant, used to generate a diagnosis and remedy.
• Support messages — anything you send us through the in-app support form.

Information collected automatically

• Device & app info — app version, device model, and OS version, to keep the App working and diagnose issues.
• Usage analytics — which features you use, to improve the App. This is used in aggregate.
• Approximate location — your selected district/village (and, if you allow it, device location) to show local weather, mandi prices and advice.
• Push notification token — so we can send you relevant alerts and news (you can turn these off).

2. How we use your information

• To provide crop diagnosis, remedies, and AI assistance.
• To personalize weather, mandi prices, schemes and news to your crops and location.
• To send notifications you have opted in to.
• To improve our features, accuracy, and reliability.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.

3. AI processing

Crop photos and questions are processed by trusted AI services (including Google Gemini) to generate diagnoses and answers. We send only the content needed to produce your result. We do not sell your data or use your personal identity to train third-party models.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with service providers who help us run the App — for example, cloud hosting, image storage, notification delivery, and AI processing — and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Diagnosis history is retained to improve the advice we give you. News content and images are purged on a rolling schedule. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see below).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To delete your data, visit our Data Deletion page or email us at support@kisanbharosa.com.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

8. Children

The App is intended for adults engaged in farming. It is not directed at children under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
